the 2-week program that supports Teens and Tweens to develop healthy and safe Smartphone Habits.

Mindful Mobile

Getting a smartphone opens up a whole new world of group texting, apps and social media. This new world comes with risks of cyberbullying, scams, sextortion, seeing inappropriate content, overuse and even addiction.

Do you have concerns about getting a young person their first Smartphone?

You've asked friends, family, colleagues. You've googled, listened to podcasts, read books- but nothing really fits your scenario or does anything to ease your concerns.

You can't find a clear answer...

You can't be with your young person all the time, you know they need to have a phone and they've made some really good arguments for getting a smartphone- like everyone else they know.

You also know there are some benefits...

Everywhere you turn you hear about something that has gone wrong with a young person on a smartphone and/or you see it first hand and think 'I don't want my young person doing that.'

You've heard some horror stories...

You're tired of arguing and worrying...

Let me use my experience to support your families journey through Smartphones and reduce the worry and conflict in your household!

Hi I'm Karleigh,
Owner, creator and facilitator of the Mindful Mobile Program. I'm a social worker with over 15yrs experience working with and supervising work with young people across Australia. Over this time I have had the great privilege of hearing the stories of thousands of young people and supporting them through all the challenges and complexities of navigating life. I created Mindful Mobile because I've noticed an increase in issues arising from Smartphone Usage, from experiences of friendship ruptures, cyberbullying, scams, sextortion, family conflict to significant impacts on mental health arising from overuse and I wanted to create something to provide young people with the skills they need to manage smartphones well. As a Mother, Stepmother and proud Aunty I've also experienced a range of challenges with smartphones and young people at a personal level and wanted to help others navigate these conversations which are often fraught with emotion and if not handled well can result in a lot of conflict

From this

Sometimes young people need to hear information from a professional and not their caregiver- let me present them with what they need to know to manage their smartphones well

There is no app associated with the program, all content is accessed through a browser, but you can save a link to your devices home screen for quick access if you like.

Is there an app to download?

There's no boring workbooks here and no obligation to print anything, however some families may choose to print the smartphone agreement.

Do I need to print anything??

Content is dropped daily for young people over a two week period but they get 4 weeks access, so if life gets busy they have time to catch up. It is recommended to follow the program in order for most benefit.

What happens if we miss some sessions?

And just in case you're wondering....

Mindful Mobile has limited participant numbers so that I can guarantee a 24hr turn around for feedback on submissions and responses to email questions. There are 11 rounds scheduled for 2024 so if you miss the cut-off for one you'll be placed on the list for the next available dates.

Why do you limit participant numbers?

Ideally Mindful Mobile should be completed before having access to a smartphone however many participants have completed after having a phone and still report benefits, it can be used as a reset for those who have noticed problematic behaviours, or can be used to set foundational skills for those who have had a phone less than 12 months.

What if my young person already has a phone?

Mindful Mobile has been developed with first smartphone owners in mind. It is recommended for 12-14yr olds, feel free to email mindfulmobile@mindfulintegrity.com to discuss individual circumstances

"This is actually so amazing, it is perfect for Zac! There are so many things I haven't even thought about discussing with him before that are so important!!!"

CHRISTINA, Queensland, AUSTRALIA

Developing a contract has been a great tool to make sure both my tween and I are on the same page and I can see it being very useful to continue to refer back to down the track.

Kerry, QUEENSLAND, australia

Having an external, trustworthy voice speak about values and expectations of phone use has helped to ease my concerns with my tween starting to use a phone.
